Learn why Mendocino,CA has such a rich ecosystem of medicinal seaweeds as well as when and where to harvest in Northern California. How, when and where it is harvested. Together we will explore the ancient tradition of using kelp for food and medicine. Sample and buy from your local seaweed harvester! This class will go in depth about different types of seaweed and their medicine profiles, as well as explore a few recipes that will be available to take home.
My friend, Julie Drucker has been a seaweed harvester and enthusiast on the Mendocino Coast of California for more than 20 years. She teaches foraging classes for the Berkeley Herbal College, the Sonoma County Herb Exchange as well as classes up and down the Pacific coast. She owns and runs Yemaya Seaweed Company.
